Fort Stanton Store: Marijuana & Weed Dispensary in Washington DC

Federal troops made their way from Washington to in the Arlington the region in northern Virginia. The purpose of the move was to deter any attempts from Virginia military and Confederate soldiers to take over the capital that is the capital of The United States. The next 7 weeks of the war, forts were erected along the banks of Potomac River and at the entrances to the three bridges ( Chain Bridge, Long Bridge along with the Aqueduct Bridge) connecting Virginia to Washington and Georgetown. Following that surrender by Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia on the 9th of April 1865, the principal defences that were garrisoned to protect Washington ended. Initial recommendations made by Col. Fort Stanton fell into the first-class category because it was believed that the fort was required to protect against the Washington Navy Yard. The land that comprised the location that was Fort Stanton was converted to public parkland. In 1920 residents of the area african-american catholics built Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on land that was previously belonging to the Dr. J.C. Norwood, who was a physician in the area. When the grounds that comprised the fort had been acquired in 1925, residents living nearby were reported to have "walked their cows" across the fields to Fort Stanton Park to graze prior to the bell of school ringing.
